Stupid blog, be more funny!

In my recent post regarding Zell Miller's convention tirade, I explained that I don't normally go in for snark-laden commentaries, as the market for that sort of thing is already pretty well cornered within the left-wing blogosphere. Well, as if to drive this point home, World O'Crap has posted a "condensed version"of George W. Bush's convention address that puts my jab at Duelin' Zell utterly to shame. Whereas I managed just a weak infield dribbler with the softball Miller lobbed, WOC has smacked Bush's high heat clear out of the park (spectators outside the stadium are fighting for the ball as we speak. Expect it to turn up on eBay over the weekend). I am humbled, Madam S.Z.

Grand Ol' Pandas

Maybe I'm the only one who finds this funny, but low culture has been running a series of posts on the RNC, under the heading of "Conventionist," that parodies both the Republicans, and popular New York culture-blog Gothamist. You can find the first three installments here, here, and here.

As expected, Conventionist toured the floor in full force tonight, and, lo and behold, not a single panda was in sight. You can imagine Conventionist's disappointment at this unexpected development...but Laura Bush's keynote address more than made up for this lack of Grand Ol' Pandas.
